Etosha National Park is renowned as one of the best game reserves in Africa, is a haven for wildlife and supports one of the most important ecological and wildlife systems on the continent.  At 22,270 km sq this huge park hosts an impressive collection of game including the white rhino and endangered black rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and numerous species of antelope as well as an impressive 340 species of birds - enough to keep any nature and wildlife enthusiast happy.

NB: The accommodation provided is on a twin share basis in safari style permanent tents or twin rooms with en-suite facilities and self catering facilities.  The lodges used are located within 25km of the Anderson gate on the western side of Etosha National Park.  This safari does not visit Namutoni Camp at all as it is closed to non-resident visitors or on payment of a very high daily fee, which has not been included in the cost of this safari. Sleeping bags or bath towels are not necessary but please bring swim wear and pool towels, especially during the summer months

ITINERARY:
Day 1 LODGE OUTSIDE ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – We depart from Chameleon Backpackers Lodge, Windhoek 12h00 in winter (13h00 in summer). We stop briefly at Otjiwarongo then arrive at our lodge just before sunset outside the gates of Etosha National Park.  Twin share rooms or permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities.  Dinner is  prepared by your guide and an early night is recommended.  (D)

 

Day 2 LODGE OUTSIDE ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK – We depart from our lodge at sunrise to be the first at the gate to the park and game drive ‘til mid morning when we will stop for a light breakfast.  We visit many waterholes and drive half way across the park in our quest to find the big 4 as well as all the plains game arriving at Halali for a rest during the hottest part of the day. Here your guide will prepare you a delicious lunch whilst you have a dip in the pool or relax by the camp waterhole.  Continuing after lunch you will visit the mighty Etosha Pan and have the experience of walking on the pan to feel the immenseness of this 4500 sq km saltpan (seasonal).  We will then continue back to Okaukuejo calling into some well-known waterholes and leave the park prior to sunset.  Twin share rooms or permanent tents with en-suite bathroom facilities.  Dinner is prepared by your guide and another early night is recommended. Day 3 WINDHOEK – Early morning game drive (+ 3 hours) inside the park looking for predators as well as plains game and the many bird species found inside this incredible world renowned park.  Your guide will give you a light lunch en-route to Windhoek via the craft markets at Okahandja.  Arrive in Windhoek late afternoon for your onward travel arrangements or to join the Sossusvlei Express, which departs at midday tomorrow.  You will be dropped at your accommodation, airport transfers can be arranged by the office with advance notice.
