Erindi private game reserve located in what is known as the Okahandja, Otjiwarongo and Omaruru triangle. Erindi is a local word which is translated as ‘the place of water’. The reserve is set on an area of about 79,000ha and is believed to be one of the largest privately owned conservation areas on earth.
With over 200 mammal species, Erindi is undoubtedly a haven for wildlife. Visitors can be sure to see a variety of animals in great numbers such as the elephants, hippos, brown hyenas, lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, giraffes and the endangered species such as the white and black rhinos and the African wild dogs. Erindi Game Reserve is indeed a jewel in the heart of Namibia’s landscape. If you want to experience unforgettable game viewing somewhere closer to Windhoek or the coastal towns of Namibia, you need to look no further as Erindi is a true wildlife destination with well-informed rangers and guides who has an intimate knowledge of the animals as well as the surrounding area.
For as far as the eye can see, Erindi consists of fascinating array of landscapes that includes inselbergs (islands of mountains), mountains, grassland savannahs and riverine thickets.
Excellent accommodation facilities is readily available in the form of a lodge with luxury suites, self-catering units and campsites. When at your accommodation in the reserve, ensure to have your camera with you at all times as these facilities are closer to the waterholes.
