We know the words rainy season are normally enough to put people off travelling, but in Namibia this means something incredibly special.
After almost 10 years of ongoing drought, the 2020/2021 rainy season has truly transformed Namibia from a spectacular desert landscape to an unbelievable desert oasis!
Now lush green grass covers the plains, rivers flow through the heart of the Namib Desert, wild lilies sprung up from nowhere to create a field of dreams, and salt pans transformed into enormous lakes attracting thousands of migratory birds such as pelicans and flamingos. It’s time to travel to Namibia now, just to witness these once in ten-year rain events for yourself!
